  • Stimulating Breath
  • Rich in Antioxidants
  • Weight Loss
  • Treating Migraines
  • Diuretic functions
  • Improved Brain Function
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Cancer Liver Cirrhosis

While the list of health benefits of coffee seems pretty impressive, there are some adverse effects of this drink as well that you should be aware of.

Adverse Health Effects of Coffee:

  • Addictive
  • Weight Gain
  • Anxiety
  • Heartburn
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Fertility
  • Osteoporosis
  • Dehydration

Though not entirely harmful, coffee is not innocent either and you should be aware of the health effects of this drink. Moderation is the key here – limit your coffee intake to 2-3 cups (or fewer) a day and do not over indulge!

Exercise tip: spoil yourself!

Before I fell off the bandwagon back in November, I would always fight the need to reward myself with food. While I still do this sometimes (like treating myself to a cheat day every now and again!), I find it a lot more helpful to reward exercise by pampering yourself!

For example, today I worked the closing shift at my store (4-11:30) and didn’t get home until about 12. Instead of finding excuses to not workout, however, I put on my jogging clothes, grabbed my iPod and my dog, and went for a half-hour jog around the block. I was really proud of myself for putting in the effort, but instead of coming home and allowing myself to snack on junk, I made an egg white + lemon facemask, and then I ran some hot water and took an olive oil + milk bubble bath, while burning candles and listening to relaxing music. Nobody even understands how soft my skin is right now!

It also helps to keep my skin healthy and wash off all the dirt and sweat I accumulated from working all day and then jogging. I feel a lot better than I would have if I had snacked on sugary food, and it’s a great way to reward yourself for all your hard work and effort!

Nutritional Benefits of Strawberries

“The heart-shaped silhouette of the strawberry is the first clue that this fruit is good for you. These potent little packages protect your heart, increase HDL (good) cholesterol, lower your blood pressure, and guard against cancer.

Packed with vitamins, fiber, and particularly high levels of antioxidants known as polyphenols, strawberries are a sodium-free, fat-free, cholesterol-free, low-calorie food. They are among the top 20 fruits in antioxidant capacity and are a good source of manganese and potassium. Just one serving — about eight strawberries — provides more vitamin C than an orange.” - WebMD
